So I purchased japnaa.dev.
I impulsively wanted to connect everything that I could put on japnaa.dev on japnaa.dev, so I connected my blogger website.
I am making this post to move the 'stuff I hate' blog down, since the word 'hate' is pretty strong (and I'm not exactly comfortable with that being the first thing people see when they enter this site.)
Anyway, I bought japnaa.dev from Google Domains because it seemed to be the cheapest option from a quick search (on Google). Most other domain registars charge about $20 CAD for renewing a domain for a year, while Google charges $17 CAD for buying and renewing. (Many domain registars provide ~$1 domains for one year, but then renew at like $40 the following years.)
I think a lot of websites don't suggest using Google Domains because it doesn't provide web hosting (other than Google Sites), but I don't need web hosting, since I'm already using free static site host like Github pages / Blogger. (And also I personally think Google Sites isn't too bad.)
I was originally looking for a japnaa.com domain, but found Google Domains offered .dev domains at the same cost. I thought .dev was cooler, so I bought .dev.
Yup.
That concludes my non-opinionated blog post that will move the 'stuff I hate' blog down.
